My second round of ballet classes starts in two weeks and I'm so excited. I've always adored ballet, but I always thought I was too old to start taking classes. A 15 year old beginner? Not going to make a career out of that. A 19 year old beginner? Pshh, yeah right. Then I turned 22 and I said screw it. I'm going to take ballet classes. Am I going to be a professional ballerina? No. But who says I have to be? I'm going to take a ballet class because I love it. I feel it in my bones. It's something I've always wanted to do, so finally, I did.

Now that I've started, I can't stop. There is seriously nothing I love more than donning a leotard, tights, and ballet shoes, throwing my hair in a bun, and getting my ballerina on. I have bad feet and weak ankles, but I've never felt more beautiful, more challenged, more accomplished, and more in control of my body. I absolutely love it.
Have you taken up a new hobby as an adult that you've completely fallen in love with?

That's so awesome -- major props! That's how I felt about dance in general (it was always too late to start), and I just recently started taking dance seriously again and it feels awesome. Ballet class in college just made me feel awkward and fat, though. I'm sure you're much more graceful than I am! :)
Go you!! What a cool thing to learn. I'd never make it; I'm such a klutz :)
How exciting! You're awesome for pursuing this dream. :)
That's great! Im inspired now...I always, always wanted to take ballet or some other dance class but never had the chance and then I figured I was too old. But now I feel like hunting down some lessons!
I would love to take ballet...but alas I'm already 28 (going to be 29!) and I haven't started. I feel like that might be too old...but I guess I'll never know unless I look into it!
Go you! Ballet (and other forms of dance) always make me feel very strong, and they are great work outs, which I think that people don't always appreciate/get. Dude: full boy workout there! I have never been one to enjoy things like running/going to a gym, but I always feel insanely connected to my body through dance! I moved to jazz/Irish step dance before getting too far with ballet...I've always dreamed about going up on pointe.
