Check out what I've been up to around the house lately:
Super boring lampshade. Mike actually called it a "hotel lampshade". Clearly this needed to be remedied.
I wrapped the "blah" lampshade in some layers of tulle, and voila! Hotel lampshade be gone.
I kind of over-hauled the whole office area. I wrapped a huge canvas in some pretty fabric and hung it behind the computer monitor. Mike "isn't sure how he feels about it", so we're sitting on it for now. However, I do think it's a major upgrade from blah white wall. So there.
I also hung these above our staircase and I looove them. I've got one more bird print, but I need to find another glossy black frame for it!
I'm sort of a sucker for vintage-suitcase looking boxes. These are currently beside our couch.
Last but not least, I found these awesome horticulture prints at TJMagic. I actually left them behind when I first saw them, but I had a dream about them a few days later and decided I had to have them.
I love the glossy black frames. I've been trying to get rid of all the bright colors I decorated with before and I think these really do the trick. Pretty, with out being eye-bleeding-ly bright.
I think I have a masculine-vintage-library thing going on, which I'm quite pleased with.
What do you think of the changes?

Masculine-vintage-library and I love it. The trick you did with the tulle is a great idea!
You did so well..I love everythig and the lamp looks fantastic:) Hugs and kisses, darling
It all looks great! I love the lampshade!
Great lamp shade! I have two ugly lampshades that I might try that on! And I like the material covered board. I could see you making it a ribbon board and putting pictures in it too!
