On the day of our wedding, Mr. Rainbow and I woke up around 7:30. We both lazed in bed for an hour or so, just smiling at each other like idiots and trying to wrap our minds around the fact that it was finally happening. Today was our wedding day. Crazy.
Against my dear mother's wishes, we spent the night together on New Years Eve, woke up together on New Years Day, and got ready together at our apartment. She said it was something about bad luck, but I didn't care. I was finally marrying the man of my dreams, according to me, there was no such thing as bad anything.
When 10 o'clock rolled around, I went to my regular nail salon and got a mani/pedi. It may be a little odd to get your nails done on the day of your wedding, but let me tell you, having that relaxing few hours was exactly what I needed for the start of a sure-to-be-hectic day. If you're having a late afternoon wedding, I highly recommend doing this.
Immediately afterward, we went to the reception restaurant and dropped off the flowers, menus, and cake. By the time we got back home around 1 o'clock, it was officially go time!
While I was busy doing my make-up...
...and soaking up the moment,...
...the boys filled balloons...
...and bff S dutifully steamed my veil.
Of course, Sophie had to get in on the wedding prep photoshoot action, too.
When I was finished with my make-up, S assisted me in putting in my weave extensions, then her and her husband jetted off to the location.
Then it was just me, my new Lady Godiva locks, and Audrey Hepburn spectating.
Obviously, Audrey was not of much help, so I had to call in the big guns, aka Rainbow Mom, to hold those slippery extensions.

While I was doing the do' (heh), Mr. R grabbed our vows...

...and the rings...
...he brushed off the haters (or just dog fur...) and off he went!
Finally, it was time for me to put on the dress, but you'll just have to wait until next time! ;)
Did you get ready with your SO on your wedding day?
