Say what?

Today, the prompt for #reverb10 totally stumped me. Here it is:

December 2 Writing.
What do you do each day that doesn’t contribute to your writing — and can you eliminate it?

Well, first off, I guess this question doesn't apply to me so much, considering I'm not a professional writer. I write for fun, and that's about it. My whole life I've been told that I'm a great writer, that I'm wasting my talents by not persuing writing, blah blah blah. But do you want to know the honest truth? I hate writing. Hate it. I get so angry every time any of my professors gives a writing assignment (which I guess means I'm angry a lot!).

Now, the blog is a different story. I like blogging because I can write how I want, when I want, about whatever I want. Obviously, I have a problem with people telling me what I can and can't do, but that's another story for another day.

So my answer is, I don't think there is anything in my life that I can eliminate that could make my writing better or more frequent. I could quit school. I could stop cooking, sleeping, grocery shopping, but it's not going to happen. I love blogging, I love my readers, but I also love a lot of other aspects of my life and I don't think it would be fair to cut out other things that I enjoy (or am obligated to do) in order to write more.

Now back to my bowl of Peanut Butter Crunch...
