Playing Catch Up

Here are the #reverb10 prompts for the holiday weekend!

December 24 Prompt – Everything’s OK
What was the best moment that could serve as proof that everything is going to be alright? And how will you incorporate that discovery into the year ahead?

The best moment that could serve as proof that everything is going to be alright is opening up and confiding in my family members. When it comes to serious issues, I'm a burrier. I don't tell anyone anything, I just try to put it out of my mind and pretend nothing is wrong. This year I'm going to try to stop avoiding and start accepting and moving on.

December 25 – Photo – a present to yourself
Sift through all the photos of you from the past year. Choose one that best captures you; either who you are, or who you strive to be. Find the shot of you that is worth a thousand words. Share the image, who shot it, where, and what it best reveals about you.

Who I strive to be: Loved. Loving. Calm. Peaceful. Happy.

December 26 – Soul Food
What did you eat this year that you will never forget? What went into your mouth & touched your soul?

This year Mike and I decided to try out this little Ethiopian place up the road from us called Queen of Sheba. It's the greatest little hole in the wall with authentic Ethiopian art and books everywhere. Oh my gosh, the food is amazing. Not to mention, the staff is always so nice and welcoming. They always remember us when we walk through the door. I would highly, highly recommend it to anyone in Tampa!

Various ethiopian dishes on a spongey pancake type bread called Injera.

The potato, carrot, and green bean stew, Atakilt Alicha, is arguably my favorite part of the meal.

However, the Beef Tibs with green peppers, caramelized onions and rosemary are a very, very close second.

Ethiopians don't traditionally use utensils. The Injera is used as the vehicle to get the stews from plate to mouth. Yum!

What great new food have you tried this year?

What an adorable picture of you! So cute. :)

That food looks delicious, I've never had Ethiopian food or any real ethnic food for that matter!
