Working It Out

The latest #reverb10 prompt:

December 20 – Beyond Avoidance.
What should you have done this year but didn’t because you were too scared, worried, unsure, busy or otherwise deterred from doing? (Bonus: Will you do it?)

I should have exercised more. I've got the diet part of "diet and exercise down", hell, I've lost 25 pounds this year, but I really sucked with the exercise part. I started off this year really great. I was kicking ass & taking names with Jillian Michaels: 30 Day Shred. Then I got to level two, almost had a few heart attacks, and never spoke Ms. Michaels' name again. I slacked off for a few months and then started taking ballet classes in the summer. I loved the classes, but once summer semester was over, tuition for the school year was almost $800. Needless to say, I let it fall by the wayside. I'd go walking or biking occasionally, but then it got cold...

See all the excuses? There are more where that came from, trust me!

This year I'm going to try really hard to be a better exerciser. Ideally, I'd like to have a schedule where I'm doing a different work-out everyday because I get bored really quickly. Maybe something like this:

Monday: Gym
Tuesday: Ballet
Wednesday: Yoga
Thursday: Biking
Friday: Jogging

I'm definitely going to resume ballet. I don't care how much it costs, because I really, really love it. I may even get a gym membership again!

Are you a crappy worker-outter (I just made that up), too? Have you found an exercise that you really love?

I find it hard to be super duper consistent all the time. Some times this year, I was 3-4 times per week. Other times I'd miss a month. It's hard. Keep trying!

The winter makes it so hard to get motivated. It's so easy for me to say forget it and just sit on the couch. Argh! I really need to get back into a routine.
